Rose Park Community Childcare
At Rose Park Community Childcare (RPCC) we believe that learning extends ‘’beyond’’ the inside environment.
‘’Beyond the wall, there is always a beyond’’ – Loris Malaguzzi
That to go ‘’beyond’’ in learning involves passion, curiosity, commitment and knowledge of the natural world.
RPCC is working towards a sustainable future. Educators consider the impact that humans have on the environment and are thoughtful of this in our everyday practice and educational program.
Our nature play philosophy not only guides our ‘’teaching’’ and the children’s learning, but is viewed as a way of life. Educators use elements of nature in everyday practice as we recognise the many benefits that the environment plays in a child’s learning, development, health and wellbeing.
We advocate and allow time for children to play, explore, investigate and imagine; uninterrupted, unstructured but intentional.
RPCC educators intentionally guide children in play to show respect, empathy, compassion, care and value of all inhabitants of this earth. We acknowledge that the way in which adults treat the natural world, has a long-lasting effect on the way our children view and treat the environment.
Therefore, as adults, we model and lead by example.
As David Suzuki states ‘’unless we are willing to encourage our children to reconnect with and appreciate the natural world, we can’t expect them to help protect and care for it’’
Eloise and Lachlan love going to RPCC. The Centre provides a safe and secure, socially inclusive environment which is staffed by friendly, compassionate and energetic carers. The childrens' days are filled with fun educational activities, and consistent routines. Eloise and Lachlan have developed wonderful friendships with other children, the staff and other families at the Centre.
I always feel very welcome as soon as I step into the room for drop off/pick up. I can tell that my child is very well looked after, and now he obviously feels the same as he runs happily into the room ahead of me. He is obviously looking forward to the day! Although he only attends childcare once a week, he is part of the group and I note that staff make him feel at home. There is always an activity set up that he enjoys which gives him a sense of belonging. I always feel very comfortable leaving him with the amazing staff.
Our family discovered Rose Park Community Childcare a bit by accident when searching for childcare options close to the city where we both work. We don’t live nearby, but immediately felt welcomed into the warm and diverse community of this centre. The staff are outstanding, bright and brilliantly engaged with every child in their care, and both our children have flourished in the baby, toddler, wallaby and kangaroo rooms. At morning drop-off I always leave them feeling sincerely relieved we found a place at this lovely centre!
My son attended RPCC for 1.5 years and we were very sad to leave when we moved house. He started in the toddler room (Koala) and bonded so well with his educators. I never had any concerns leaving him as I knew there were lots of lovely people to give him hugs and lots of attention. Kylie always had interesting and educational activities set up for the kids with lots of stuff for free play as well. When he moved from Koalas to Wallabies they handled his transition with so much care and attention, he then formed lovely strong bonds with his new educators and other children very easily. RPCC is a small, caring, community centre with some staff there for over 20 years (which is a great thing I think) - I highly recommend it.
Our son has been going to Rose Park Community Childcare for 8 months and he is loving his time there! The teachers in his rooms are lovely, very experienced and helpful. We can tell he is happy and well looked after. Since starting at RPCC we are amazed at how much he has learnt and how much he loves interacting with his friends in his room. Each day he has new photos added to his day learning book, that we love looking at and seeing what our little man has been up to throughout the day. We would definitely recommend RPCC to other families, its hard being away from your baby but we know he is in good hands.
My son has been going to Rose Park Community Childcare for one and a half years and I have found the care provided to my son to be outstanding. The educators have taught my son lots of new skills and I have found that his communication skills and confidence has developed substantially since he began at the Centre. I get a real sense that the educators really care about my son and he absolutely loves going there to see them and his friends.
I’ve had my daughter at the Centre since she was 16 months and every step of the way every single staff member has been amazing. Amazing with my daughter and her needs, and amazing at calming any fears or worries I’ve had along the way. The things she has learnt since being here (now 3.5) are far beyond what I expected. The staff take special interest in every child and I am always confident dropping my daughter off in the mornings to the open, caring arms of the staff here. From he bottom of my heart I thank you all for the care you have provided for moo and the support you have given me.
Our family has been so happy with our experience so far at RPCC. The staff are so friendly and caring towards our son and it is such a welcoming community to be a part of. I felt guilty returning to part time work, however, knowing our son is so happy and safe when he is at RPCC it puts my mind at ease. I have utmost trust in the carers looking after him and he loves his time when he is there. He has grown up and learnt so much in the last 12 months of being there. We would be more than comfortable in recommending RPCC to any of our family and friends.
It has been a delight to watch my son flourish under the nurturing and supportive care of the RPCC staff over the past 2.5 years. In each room, the teachers are enthusiastic and warm, and really get to know each child as an individual. The centre handles room transitions and developmental changes in a sensitive and attuned way. Communication with parents is excellent. The environment has enabled my son to confidently explore, take risks and learn about his world in a safe & supported space. He has developed lovely friendships with several peers. Thank you RPCC for the positive impact you continue to have on our lives!
We send both our children to Rose Park CC (10 month old boy and 3 year old girl) and are delighted with the highly personalised, structured and inclusive environment. Each carer takes a particular interest in each child's abilities, their learning styles and personalities. They also communicate daily activities and observations verbally, through photos and written journals. Our children's qualities have been enhanced and they are constantly challenged, which has been fantastic for their development. All staff are incredibly kind and caring. We are very happy with RPCC.
